Despite the financial cut backs, it does look increasingly likely that the Royal Navy will get one of the two new Aircraft Carriers. The Coalition Government has made no decision on a new version of Trident, this will be decided at the spending review in October.
It seems that at long last the Ministry of Defence will get a real shake-up. Not before time for many people. The supposed inefficiency, and
some of there sourcing procedures will come in for special investigation, as this is a perceived area where funds can be saved.
If Trident goes ahead, the funds will come from the MoD budget, not as a government grant.
